When I was younger I was a swimmer – I was a serious swimmer. From the age of eight to twenty-three I trained to be a competitive swimmer.
I did alright, I kept fit and I represented England twice (but didn’t come anywhere).
It’s strange to grow up a swimmer, you spend half your life wearing nothing but trunks around girls who you first play with, then fight with, and then try to date.
So when I saw Gia mention Waterlillies, I thought I’d give the trailer a look.
Instant flashback.
So I’ve booked my tickets for the Curzon in Soho for Monday and shall spend some time drifting back to my youth. It promises to be a good film, tons and tons of critics can’t be wrong.
Here are the first six minutes of the film.
